Are you planning to make huge money online within a short time? Then AdSense should be the best monetization method you should consider using after creating your blog. Google AdSense, as it is officially called is one of the best ways bloggers make money online these days. Of course, I’m not exempted. I earn through my blogs and I want to teach you the ways you can make money through AdSense.
For the sake of my newbies, I would like to explain what this program is all about.
What is Google AdSense and how does it really work?
Google Adsense is an advertising program owned by Google which enables a blog owner (publisher) to monetize their blog traffic by showing relevant advertisements on their blogs. You only earn money each time your blog visitors, view or click on the adverts being served on your blog. Though, there are many advertisement programs these days but the most popular is Google AdSense because of its simplicity and the high cost per click (CPC). As a publisher, you are required to login to your AdSense account, create your first ad units and insert the codes to your blog site. Within few minutes, live ads will start showing up on your blog once the codes are properly added. This process may look technical if you’re just using Google AdSense for the first time. It is much easier to install the codes than what other ad networks will require of you.
Requirements for Joining Google AdSense program
Before joining Google AdSense program, you are expected to have an active gmail account and a fully launched blog. Once you have a functional blog, post useful contents on the blog daily for several days then visit their official website and apply; you will get a response via email within 3 working days about your application status. Once your account is approved then you are qualified to make money from AdSense. You are required to login to the Google AdSense dashboard, create ad units of different sizes and place the codes on your blog widgets and within your post. Whenever your site visitors click on the live adverts, you will earn in Dollars. Isn’t this lucrative? Of course it is.
If you are not approved into AdSense, don’t cry and then give up. Just follow the suggestions from the email they sent you and reapply. Most times, Google rejects publishers whose contents or blog generally does not meet their requirements. If your application happens to be rejected, then ensure you do the right thing before reapplying.
Before you apply for AdSense, make sure you have created a blog that comply with their policy. If you have not started a blog yet, I advice you read: Things you need to know before starting a blog for ideas on how to do it the right way.
How much does Google pay per click?
This is one of the questions many new bloggers ask me after setting up their blogs. As an AdSense user, you can earn via CPC (cost per clicks). This means that each time your blog visitors click on the adverts on your blog, you’ll be paid 68% of what the advertiser paid Google for that particular adverts. For instance, if the amount an Advertiser paid Google for a click is $2, you will earn $1.36 for each valid click. You can also earn through Cost per thousand Impressions (CPM); which means when your adverts are seen up to a thousand times, you get paid percentage of what the advertiser budgeted even when the adverts are not clicked.
How do you receive your accrued earnings?
Google normally send AdSense payments on the 21st of every month if your earnings reaches the threshold of $100 and above through different payment methods such as Bank Wire, Payoneer, Cheque, PayPal etc depending on your country. most countries get paid directly into their bank accounts (Bank Wire) or through cheque (not recommended).
